Sustainability Centre Day 3

After packing stripping our beds and packing our belongings day 3 began
with us thinking about our use of water.
We played a game where we had to work in groups to collect water from 3 different taps
but sometimes  the taps were off or we were in a long queue.

We presented our discussions and experiences back to the group.

A clever trick started the next session!

Thalia had her hand burnt (not really!)
We also learnt a trick using a rope.

We were taught to track!
Preparing to use our new skills.

 Trying to get the keys.
Instructions for Duels a form of   'Shoot Out!'

Sustainability Residential Days 1 and 2

Dan gave us an introduction to the Centre and told us the Lodge rules.

During our orientation tour we found things to make a class collage.

We split into two groups to experience pond dipping and mini beast hunting.

We all walked to see the chalk down-land but as it was cloudy we unfortunately didn't see many species that live there.
On the first night our evening activities were a story teller .....
... and tea light making.

Then off to bed and sleep......for some!

Day 2

Mrs Read had a rude awakening at 4:45 by her alarm clocks.. Hugo and Elliott!
She was not happy!!!
Meanwhile upstairs Mrs Nail and Mrs Rutter were being entertained by the shower cap girls!
See the school's Facebook page for the photo!
Day 2 started with us thinking about where food comes from, balanced meals and what raw ingredients make up our processed foods.
Lou showed us how to spin wool by carding......
And then we all had a go!

After lunch we went on a two hour roller coaster ride across the South Downs!

Farmer George was a great host and told us all about his farm.
After dinner our evening activity was a camp fire (once we had located the matches!)
We sang songs and played games whilst we waited!
And then toasted marshmallows ....

Everyone slept more soundly on this second night, except Mrs Read
who was kept awake by a bluebottle buzzing in her room!
